I Can Never Know Myself

Original poem that comes with the artwork -
Knowing always implies duality
There must be inherent separation between the knower and the known
So I can attempt to know the world or my body or feelings
Because I can perceive them as separate things
I am the ultimate subject that sees everything else as objects
Just as the eye cannot see itself, I can never be an object to myself
There can never be duality between me and myself
So I can never know myself simply because there is no one other than me to know me
