True Colours
Encaustic - hot wax on card
Emily Brennan
Pontefract

"True Colours" is painted in coloured wax, using an encaustic iron. It is inspired by the idea that the way we view nature varies from person to person. Perspective can change with the seasons and a popular beauty spot can be loved by many on a sunny day and loathed by others when the heavens open. This painting depicts a peaceful journey from darkness to light and the vivid colours that nature has to offer. Are they nature's true colours? Well, that depends on who is looking at it.
