A dreamer in a dream world
oils on canvas
'A dreamer in a dream world' represents the nature of universal consciousness and the place of the individual within it. A fundamental theme that defines the artwork is that of change, hinting at the ephemeral and fleeting nature of reality, with its creator mingled within it.
With each spiral springing from another, there is hard to pinpoint the beginning of the process or the end. There is a continuous transition from one or a cluster of spirals which represent something, to another shape that the viewer creates in his perception. This way the latter can participate in the process of creation, the painting gaining a new nuance with each new pair of eyes. The process is endless, eventually ending up going in circles across the canvas. Initially, the title of the artwork was 'Eternity'.
