Allegorical landscape painting based on the deserts of the Namib in which one small figure is seen trudging through a harsh and seemingly alien landscape. A sense of the surreal is enhanced by the composition which crops the horizon such that there is no direct view of the sky, the only hint of it is in the reflections in a pool in the foreground.
