My work aims to reflect on the power and value of human conversation by combining the photographic image with hyper-realist drawing. The purposeful blur of the photograph eliminates any permanence it previously held, whereas the detail exhibited in the drawing shows the durability of the artists hand, combined with meaningful conversation. Personal quotes from the subject further provides the viewer with a sense of the individual's identity, influences and concerns. This piece and others in the series aims to encourage deeper connections with the people around us by harnessing the power and beauty of a conversation. The richness and depth of positive dialogue enhances wellbeing helping us to avoid focusing on the sometimes negative, fleeting ‘snapshots’ of life.
