Experiments in Pure Form 4
Indian in pen & acrylic Ink on acid free board.
This piece marks a clear separation for me. A point in time from one moment to the next - things had changed and I was tired. Although abstract in its beginnings, this piece breaks trend from the rest of the series as I allowed a Dragon live within. I notice what could be an owl in its belly - the visceral heart of knowledge. How do we act upon what the gut tells us? This piece is less detailed than the rest in this series. It remains crude, childlike, as patterns sweep across the vista as if in flight. There is little grounding to this work as I struggled to define who I am and how I felt. The bright colours brought me comfort in a time of deep separation and grief. This burst of layers and colours marks a tribute to love lost.
