Motherhood is a self portrait project looking at my role as a Mother.
Using classic Victorian style portraiture composition and also influences from the paintings of Vilhelm Hammershoi. I tried to produce a series of images to reflect on how I changed when I first had my children.
In this image I drew the Chinese symbol for Love and placed it on the wall. By having my back to the camera I am symbolising the sacrifice of myself for my children.
