Art and mental well being - Our Stories - Sponsored by National Grid
Time & Location
About the Events
Sponsored by National Grid, this event is for those who have found that art has been a great tool to coping with life's daily challenges. Hosted by D31 art gallery in collaboration with National grid, this event will focus on our personal stories and challenges and what role art has played in helping us to overcome or recover from that.
Participants should bring a piece of artwork and talk about it's relevance to their journey and what role that piece has played in their recovery. Talking might be hard for some people, come along anyway and we will help you tell your story in a nice, relaxed atmosphere, amongst people who will benefit from it. Light refreshments will be provided.
EXHIBITION OPPORTUNITY AT THE GALLERY:
At the end of the session, each participant will take home a small blank canvas and create a new piece of art, based on the session. The theme will be "Art therapy is a Good thing". Hopefully we will all be inspired to create something new.
At the end of all the sessions, all the created pieces will be exhibited in a very special exhibition in our gallery to celebrate the project . This exhibition is titled, The National Grid Mental health exhibition, in 2022.
