Robert Walker
Felixstowe, Suffolk
Robert is a Suffolk-based fine art painter best known for his quirky still life work designed to bring a smile or an emotional tug to those who stop by to appreciate his work. Moving from Scotland in 1988 his artistic bents have travelled across music, writing and art but he has always been driven by an appreciation of fine art and the ability of the artistic masters to convey so much meaning in small tight 2-d spaces, craftspeople, totally in command of their medium. Self-taught with the odd workshop under his belt he is at his happiest in the studio creating art - and listening to music when his concentration allows - Hannah Scott and Dougie MacLean are among his favourite artists. His latest series of works mix his master techniques and references with a tightly composed contemporary colour twist, an avenue he is keen to continue exploring, He regularly exhibits across Suffolk and London and his work features in collections in Europe, the US and Asia. He is a Member of the Visual Artists Association an organisation he quotes as having had a huge impact on his attitude and approach towards his work giving him the confidence and support to move forward in sharing it with others.
