This weeks Featured Artist... N.EE.H.
N.EE.H.
N.EE.H aka Nadine Hamilton is an abstract mixed media artist from Birmingham, UK. She now lives in Wakefield, creating art out of her home studio.

Describe yourself in 5 sentences... "1. I am an introvert with a bubbly personality.
2. I thrive off alone time and can be quite introspective.
3. Deep conversations are my favourite especially if I can learn something.
4. I love to learn.
5. There can't be anything better than knowing that you're growing into a better person with each new moment."
What gets your creative juices flowing? / How does inspiration come to you? "I mostly get inspired by creating. I don't wait for an idea to come, I just get started and then the ideas start flowing. If I wait, I probably won't ever create at all. It sometimes starts with a feeling, a texture, colour or specific art supply. I've just got to start with something then... it doesn't stop. "

Why do you create art? "I create because of the creator. I believe I was created to create. It connects me to God and allows me to be in the present whilst forming things that I haven't seen or have seen in my mind or the world around me. " What has been the highlight of your career so far? "Achieving every goal that I had as a young girl pertaining to art. So having an exhibition and having my art in galleries for people to see as well as just the simple act of creating itself. "
What does your dream studio look like? "A light filled, floor to ceiling walled ethereal palace filled with roses and tall plants. A birdcage in one corner, a zone for each of my artistic pursuits and a comfy corner near the windows where I can sit to read and journal. "

Where would you like your art to take you? "I want my art to take me back into nature. I want to be able to be around community and share what's been shared with me and create together."
How does your artwork relate to current issues in the world? "I believe my art shows that there is light at the end of the tunnel but also that there is light right now if we choose to see it. Everything has a connection and in every situation and new moment we are blessed to have, there is beauty. "
Does art always have to have a deeper meaning?

"I think you can give art the meaning that you want. It's all an individual experience. Some may see one painting/drawing/video etc. and think nothing of it whilst for another, it could change their whole course of life. I believe that each piece of art was created for someone, whether that be the artist who made it, or the viewer. Whoever needs to see it and/or own it will. They will find each other in due time. In the right time. "

Who/what inspires you? Why?

"God and nature. God inspires me because He created everything that I can see so I can't discount His presence when I look at nature (His creation). Nature inspires me endlessly because it allows me to marvel at the beauty of God and His infinite mind and power. Everything is unique and so intensely beautiful. I love to paint roses and butterflies on an abstract background because it relates to the complexities of the world around me and how those who take the time can really see the beauty in amongst it. "
What brings you joy? "Life."
How would you like to be remembered? "As someone who did all that they could to bring glory to God and joy, laughter and light to the world. " What would you say to your younger self? "Things get better. You don't need to prove yourself to anyone or live for the world. Your voice matters and everything will make sense. There's no such thing as coincidence and the things that you find weird about you are what makes you, you. "
